Yoni Strijbol

Education: Bachelor in Applied Youth Criminology; Master in Sociology 

Research Themes: peer support, prisons, re-entry and reintegration 

Yoni began her PhD research in December 2025 at the Department Sociology at the University of Antwerp and the Department of Educational Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Her PhD research is part of the FWO-SBO project named “Peer Support Innovating Prisons: towards reintegration and desistance of crime” (PIP). Within this project, she focuses on peer support initiatives that support the transition from prison to community life and processes of reintegration.
